Math Club Mission

Students are encouraged to have a positive attitudes towards mathematics. It stimulates mathematical curiosity. Learning math beyond the classroom and allow students to make math an integral part of their lives. It develops a healthy interest in mathematics as a source of interest and achievement. Finally, it inspires thinking, challenge and collaboration.

數學班的任務

鼓勵學生對數學持積極態度。 激發對數學的好奇心。 在教室外學習數學，並使學生將數學作為生活不可或缺的一部分。 對數學產生濃厚的興趣，並將其作為興趣和成就的來源，進而激發思考，挑戰和協作。

IEC Math Club materials are based on MEP (Mathematics Enhancement Programme) adapted by the British ‘Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching’.

IEC Math Club的教材奠基於英國「數學教學創新中心」改編的數學增強計劃（Mathematics Enhancement Programme, MEP）。

Math Club Activities:

§  Math Fun activities, games, puzzles, quizzes and investigations to math trails and problem solving

§  數學趣味活動，遊戲，謎題，測驗以及對數學線索和問題解決的調查

§  Math tutorial help – the math club uses fully qualified math teachers and provides a ‘drop in’ for any students who needs additional support.

§  數學教程的扶助–數學班聘用合格的數學老師，並為需要額外支持的任何學生提供“學習機會”。

§  Math Quiz Bee competition – Math competitions help our students gain confidence early on in tacking unfamiliar mathematical challenges. With these activities our students will have a chance and be part of TBDS Team to represent a higher-level competition with the other schools here in China and abroad.

Math Quiz Bee競賽–數學競賽幫助我們的學生在應對陌生的數學挑戰時儘早獲得信心。 透過這類活動，我們的學生將有機會成為東莞台校團隊的一員，與國內外其他學校一起代表更高層次的比賽。

§  Math Kangaroo Competition – This international competition has grown across the world to 6.3m participants in 2019. TBDS has been recognized by ASDAN China to be this year’s testing Center for the Math Kangaroo Competition across all primary grades.

§  數學袋鼠競賽（Math Kangaroo Competition）–這項國際競賽在2019年已發展到全球630萬名參賽者。TBDS被ASDAN China認可為今年所有小學年級數學袋鼠競賽的考試中心。

·      Magic of Math – this teaches practical and workable number tricks to challenge and entertain.

·     數學魔術–這將教授一些實用且可行的數字技巧以挑戰和娛樂。

Performing math magic helps children revise their math skills, provides novel contexts for learning new skills and supports math flexibility. Informal recreational math activities are wealthy sources of enhancement and enrichment. The tricks take center stage to engage pupil’s imaginations. Some recreational math activities are pure fun, while others are serious applications of math.

表演數學魔術可以幫助孩子們提高他們的數學技能，為學習新技能提供新穎的環境，並增加數學的靈活性。 非正式的休閒數學活動是加強數學能力的豐富資源。 這些技巧以吸引學生的想像力為中心。 部分娛樂性數學活動是純粹的樂趣，而另一些則是數學的嚴謹應用。

Using novelty math is a resourceful, enjoyable and exciting way to promote the magic of numbers. Math tricks can play a significant role in promoting a positive attitude towards math learning.
